Head of Tibubeneng Village appreciates Atlas Beach Fest’s spirit as the world’s largest beach club in bringing a positive impact to Bali

Bali, July 3, 2023 - Atlas Beach Fest, the newly crowned largest beach club by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, receives appreciation for its spirit in bringing positive influence to the surrounding environment, as expressed by I Made Kamajaya, S.E., the Head of Tibubeneng Village, the location of Atlas Beach Fest.

Despite being only established for a year, Atlas Beach Fest has positively impacted the community. With a focus on sustainability and environmental friendliness, Atlas Beach Fest strives to be a tourist destination that provides a unique experience while supporting ecological preservation.

One of Atlas Beach Fest's commitments to preserving Bali's environment is through various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. Every week, the Atlas Beach Fest team conducts beach cleaning activities in Berawa to maintain the cleanliness of the environment.

In addition, Atlas Beach Fest also engages in aerobic exercises with the residents of Tibubeneng village, releases over 16,000 baby turtles (hatchlings), and contributes to the improvement of Gang Mango. Atlas Beach Fest also actively organizes blood donation drives and provides free health check-ups. All these CSR activities are genuine efforts by Atlas Beach Fest to participate in the local community actively.

"As the head of the village in Tibubeneng, where Atlas is located, we are delighted because this establishment in our village has become one of the best destinations in the world. Atlas has brought significant positive impacts both directly and indirectly," said I Made Kamajaya, S.E., the Head of Tibubeneng Village.

"The presence of Atlas has opened up opportunities for job creation and has accommodated the local community and young people in Tibubeneng to participate in building businesses. Atlas has also provided space for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), allowing our local MSMEs to grow and have a chance to thrive," he continued.

I Made Kamajaya also emphasized the multiplier effect, which positively impacts various sectors surrounding Atlas Beach Fest.

"Indirectly, it also multiplies, positively impacting our community's economy. With the increasing number of visitors, transportation, rental services for motorcycles and bicycles, and other related businesses also benefit. Accommodations such as rooms, homestays, and guesthouses are always fully booked," he explained.

"Since the presence of Atlas, there has been a significant positive impact. Several tourism-related businesses have also flourished and are greatly felt by the local community," concluded I Made Kamajaya.

In addition to CSR activities, Atlas Beach Fest implements environmentally friendly strategies, such as using electric shuttles and scooters. This significantly reduces carbon emissions and maintains air quality.

Atlas Beach Fest also uses reusable cups made from pineapple skin and dragon fruit, reducing the use of single-use plastic at its outlets.

Furthermore, Atlas Beach Fest utilizes environmentally friendly cassava-based plastic bags, and eco-friendly straws, upcycles bottle waste into room decorations, and creates duck tumblers from recycled materials.

"Through our activities and initiatives, we are committed to making Atlas Beach Fest not only a captivating tourist destination but also a responsible and environmentally friendly tourism destination that supports the local economy," explained a representative of Atlas Beach Fest.

Beyond focusing on environmental sustainability, Atlas Beach Fest also plays a role in supporting the local economy. Up to 90% of the food ingredients used at Atlas Beach Fest are sourced from local farmers and breeders in Bali, directly supporting local businesses.

Additionally, up to 90% of Atlas' employees are residents of Bali. This creates job opportunities and empowers the local community. Atlas also collaborates with Bali.
